Think Tank on Telecommunications has been working under the aegis of ITU-APT Foundation of India. The Think Tank comprises professionals with long experience and holding or having held top positions in the Government and Private Sector.
As in many other countries, this foundation would, inter alia, harmonise views of the industry, public and private sectors in the context of various activities of the U.N. telecom agencies, the International Telecommunication Union (ITU) and Asia Pacific Telecommunity (APT). The scope of the foundation covers broadcasting, space sciences, information technology with special emphasis on rural areas.
The Think Tank has submitted inputs to policy makers on Cable TV Regulations and Broadcasting Technology for the country. The latest paper entitled ‘Solutions for Rural Communications in India’ has recently been submitted to the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India.

Manufacturing / Hardware Sector
Standardisation.
Sh. S.M. Agarwal, former Secretary, Ministry of Communications and presently, Advisor, Hindustan Times is the Chairperson and Sh. N.K.Mathur, former Advisor Operations, Telecom Commission of India is the Convenor of the Think Tank.
